25 July 2010: Aquinas Piano Trio

This concert has already taken place.

Background

The trio was formed in 2008 and officially launched in 2009 at the Royal Over-Seas League, together with their own debut CD of Ravel and Saint-Saëns (recorded just over the Norfolk border at The Old Granary Studio, Raveningham).

Ruth Rogers (violin) already had a solo and chamber career and led the Britten-Pears Orchestra at Snape for many concert projects; she now regularly leads the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and guests widely with other groups and orchestras.  She also plays as a duo with Martin Cousin (piano), a well-known performer as a soloist and with the chamber group Chroma; the third permanent member of the Aquinas, Katherine Jenkinson (cello), is a member with Ruth of the Iuventus Ensemble.  Caroline Dale will play instead of Katherine at the Aquinas’ Cratfield concert.

The Aquinas has been selected for support by the Making Music Concert Promoters Network.
