Two new CDs from Anna Dennis

Anna Dennis
Anna Dennis

Anna Dennis soprano, who sang in last season’s Cratfield concert Baroque: Original and Contemporary, is featured on two CDs newly released.  In the first, ‘Conversazioni II’ on the Avie label, she sings cantatas from eighteenth century Italy with Andrew Radley countertenor and the ensemble Sounds Baroque, directed by Julian Perkins.

The second is an all-Monteverdi disc, ‘Love and Loss’ from Arcangelo, directed by Jonathan Cohen, for Hyperion.  Anna joins other singers in madrigals from several of the collections the composer published in his lifetime; the CD features James Gilchrist tenor in the Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda.
